Needs Restoration
I have reluctantly decided to sell my Morris that has been sitting in my shop for the past 14 years. I doubt I will get to restoring it anytime soon. It is a Model A, Type 3. 24” decks with coamings, one very wide thwart and a second “normal” size thwart. Center removable thwart has gone missing. Outside stems and a floor rack. “Iver Johnson, Sporting Goods, Boston Mass.” brass tag on the coaming. Four ribs will need to be replaced and the starboard inwale is cracked and will need to be spliced. The stem tips and inwale tips appear to be in good shape – which is rather nice. The decks and gunwales are covered in blue paint. I put some stripper on the bow deck to see how hard it would be to remove and was pleasantly surprised how easy it came off. Serial number 12549 dates it to 1915 more or less.
It's a straight forward restoration worthy of the effort required.
