Handbuilt Teak Canoe
One-of-a-Kind Heirloom
w Custom Paddles
$5000
Condition:
Excellent Original
This is a unique, one of one, handcrafted wooden canoe built in 1999 by my father as a personal project - with a focus on craftsmanship and detail.
I have preserved this canoe for over 20 years and it has been in the water five times. The canoe has spent its life stored indoors and maintained as both a functional craft and a family piece.
The hull is teak, yoke, seats, and decks are ash. The inlays are clean and symmetrical that reflect the time and care invested in the build. He was a perfectionist
Included are three custom handcrafted ash paddles, designed to match the canoe.
Details:
16 ft length | 36” beam
Teak strip-built hull
Ash yoke, seats, and decks
Hand-caned seats
Integrated bow compartment
3 matching custom paddles (62”, 55.5”, 43.5”)
Condition:
Excellent overall. The finish is bright and well cared for. There is minor cosmetic wear on a small section of the gunwale consistent with careful handling over time, but nothing that detracts from its use.
A Note on This Canoe
This a one-of-one piece built with intention and preserved as part of a family legacy. My vision is for it to be at home on the water or at a lake house - to be used exactly what it was built for.
I would love to see it go to someone who appreciates the craftsmanship and story behind it.
Happy to share additional details about the build with serious buyers.
