Mattawa Tripper Prototype
Swift Canoes' Solo/Tandem Mattawa Tripper Prototype by John Winters
This cedar-strip boat has an important history: She formed the mold for Swift Canoes’ solo/tandem tripper the Quetico, later re-named the Mattawa: 15’10” long; 34-1/2” at the beam; 13” depth. About 65 lbs. It is a boat for two paddlers (say up to 400 lbs) and their gear. Comes with solo kneeling thwart. Great stability for freestyle or Canadian style paddling or wind and waves. Designed & built by John Winters. Check out https://vimeo.com/36203053 for info on the Mattawa.
