Canoe pre-1941

Excellent Restored

Build just completed – 12/15/2021

Canoe Dimensions: 16 x 33 x 12

The exact date of build and the exact model are still to be fully determined. I purchased it listed as a “Peterborough Champlain Pleasure Model” but not certain that is the correct model. Peterborough was in business from1892 to 1961. The model number on this canoe is 041 indicating that it was built prior to the change to a 4 x 4 digit “serial model” number in 1940 or 1941. So, based on dimension 16 x 33 x 12 and 3 digit model number, this canoe model might be an Algonquin (1929 – 1938) or Otonabee (1929 – 1938) or Champlain Pleasure (1938 – 1941).

Any of the experts on WCHA can feel free to help identify – greatly appreciated!

The outer stem guard is copper, seats are hand woven cane and there are wooden outer stems and keel.

This is very beautiful canoe and one that I would not mind keeping.

I can deliver to within 100 miles free of charge but added cost if greater distance. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
