Ray Arcand, a well-known canoe collector from Pender Island, British Columbia, and longtime member of the NW Chapter WCHA, recently passed away and nearly his entire collection is up for sale. The canoes are from a variety of builders and represent multiple types of construction. They vary in condition, but all are either ready to immediately hit the water, or are restorable to like-new condition. Here is what's currently available:

1957 cold molded red cedar K-1 flatwater racing kayak

12' Ray Arcand-built wood-framed, polyester-covered Yukon River style canoe

1921 Old Town Ideal model wood/canvas canoe #66218-16
17' Kevlar tripping/racing canoe
17' Thompson wood/canvas canoe with 1/2 ribs, fully restored
15' 1960's vintage Huron wood/canvas canoe covered with polyester; set up for solo paddling

The whole collection is located on Pender Island in British Columbia, Canada. Limited photos are available for any or all of these canoes. Ray's widow would love for these canoes to go to a new loving home, so contact me right away to determine price on one or all!
