This is a Model A, BN Morris Canoe with a Type 3 Trim style which includes 24" elongated decks and Oak external stems and extensive Mahogany top wood. The intent in the restoration was to restore the canoe to like new condition using original materials to the extent possible and practical. It is strong as new and with reasonable use and care could well last another 100 years. It is a very rare canoe and was rated as one of the highest quality and best designed canoes of its era. This canoe has not been fiber glassed... The new canvas covering was applied in the same manner as the original and is adhered under the side gunnels. and wood trim. That new covering however has been upgraded from a cotton base that is prone for rotting to a material similar to nylon which will never rot. Being all white in color allows the new owner to create and apply a new emblem or decoration at their option.
