1943 Old Town
square-end canoe
with sponsons
$3800
Condition:
Mostly Restored
The interior has been completely stripped and re-varnished, and the exterior has been re-canvassed and filled, as are the sponsons. The hull is ready for painting, but the sponsons might need another coat of filler? The stern board needs a little sanding and varnishing. The hull and sponsons are all original wood, with the exception of 2 very small triangular pieces on the hull that have been replaced. The 2 piece keel is also original and in great shape, but needs a finishing sanding and repainting. Also have the original bang-iron. I also have 4 new pieces of gunwale and sponson trim. The Old Town decal on the bow is a reproduction and is not the same as the original as Old Town no longer had a copy of the original. Also have a copy of the original 'build card" which I received from Old Town. Includes all supplies such as original bronze screws, oarlocks, remaining filler, etc. There are no oars .
The price also includes a vintage boat trailer (circa 1950's) that needs repainting and new bunk pads to fit the canoe.
