This is a rare 11ft OT 50 Pounder with original detachable floor rack. It was restored in August 2022. I'd love to be able to provide a serial # and manufacturer build date but both serial numbers - along with the stems the numbers were stamped onto - were eaten by squirrels by the time I got it!

Old Town made 991 of these canoes between 1927 and 1967. Since the seats are hand caned the canoe was made early in the production cycle.

It has white cedar ribs, red cedar planking, ash decks, ash inner rails, and red cedar outer rails. The seats appear to be birch and have hand caned seating. The canvas was treated with a mildewcide and Kirby's filler, and painted with 4 coats of Marine TotalBoat Top Side paint. The interior has 4 coats of TotalBoat Gleam varnish.

This thing is a blast to paddle - it's a cross between a canoe and a kayak.
