Early
16'
E.H. Gerrish

Good Usable

Offering a rare E.H. Gerrish that has been fully restored in 2007 to original condition. This is a 16ft closed gunwale with the rare curved rear seat. This canoe probably dates from the later half of the 1880's. I'm familiar with 3 other similar built Gerrish's to date. I believe these style built canoes were Gerrish's first attempt to add seats to a canoe. All seats and thwarts are mortised into the rails. This canoe is located in downeast Maine and inquiries can be sent to the number below. This canoe would certainly be the highlight of any canoe collection. This canoe has not been used since restoration. It hangs as a display piece.
