John builds high quality wood and canvas canoes in 16’ and 14’ lengths. Both models have been designed by Valkyrie Craft to produce two distinct boats that maximize paddling pleasure on the basis of both performance and appearance. More recently we have begun building traditional Greenland style skin-on-frame sea kayaks made to measure for the customer. These are durable fit for purpose craft, one of which was used in a solo circumnavigation of Ireland in the summer of 2014.John also makes to measure traditional Greenland kayak paddles and a range of canoe paddles, produces a range of accessories for canoes, including sailing gear, and will undertake repairs to other small boats. John is an active canoeist and is a qualified BCU coach and canoe guide. This experience is invaluable for helping customers to decide on the best boat for them.
